When You Pass Through the Waters
In order to land on grassy fields the planes have to buzz the area to clear the animals from the pastures.
Byron and Leila have made many wonderful friends who have hosted them on many journeys. Most villagers live in grass huts with thatched roofs that are never dry in rainy season. They live off the land, cooking on wood fires, eating fruits from the trees and sharing pigs and chickens. To get to the doctor or dentist they have to walk miles through the jungle with small children.
Leila was inspired to write this book as she recorded their adventures on video and in journals. The title of the book is taken from Isaiah 43:2 “When you pass through the waters I will be with you…” From Hurricane Mitch, floods and rainy seasons the teams have had to pass though many waters to reach the native peoples of this area. The trips continue.
